A piece of paper is folded as shown and holes are punched in the folded paper. Select the option that shows how the paper will look when it is unfolded.

The paper is folded left and then down, leaving the bottom-left quarter, in which a pentagon is cut near the outer corner and a circle near the corner that lies at the centre of the paper.
Opening the paper reflects every hole in both fold lines, so each hole appears four times.
The pentagon appears near each of the four corners of the paper, the pentagons in the top half being upside down (reflected in the horizontal fold).
The circle appears four times in a 2 × 2 cluster around the centre of the paper.
Only option (a) has four pentagons at the corners and the four circles around the centre.
