Concept: paper को उल्टे क्रम में खोलिए; मुड़ी हुई पट्टी में तीन परतें हैं और हर hole की mirror copy हर fold line के पार बनती है।
बाएँ तिहाई हिस्से को बीच वाले हिस्से पर मोड़ा गया और फिर दाएँ तिहाई हिस्से को दोनों पर मोड़ा गया, इसलिए पट्टी एक-तिहाई चौड़ी है और उसमें तीन परतें हैं।
पट्टी पर बने तीन holes (ऊपर की ओर चढ़ती तिरछी रेखा) बीच वाले तिहाई हिस्से में वैसे ही रहते हैं। दायाँ हिस्सा खोलने पर दाएँ तिहाई हिस्से में उलटी ढलान वाली mirror copy बनती है और बायाँ हिस्सा खोलने पर बाएँ तिहाई हिस्से में भी उलटी ढलान वाली mirror copy बनती है।

Concept: unfold the paper in reverse; the folded strip has three layers, and every hole makes a mirror copy across each fold line.
The left third was folded over the middle third and then the right third was folded over both, so the strip is one third wide with three layers.
The three holes on the strip (a rising diagonal line) stay as they are in the middle third. Unfolding the right third gives a mirror copy that slopes the other way in the right third, and unfolding the left third gives another mirror copy that slopes the other way in the left third.
The result is nine holes in three groups of three, sloping down, up and down again from left to right, which is option (d).
