ऊपर और फिर बाईं ओर मोड़ने के बाद तीनों holes ऊपर-बाएँ quarter में एक तिरछी रेखा पर हैं: पहला कोने के पास और आख़िरी केंद्र के पास।
Vertical fold खोलने पर यह रेखा ऊपर-दाएँ quarter में mirror हो जाती है और उल्टी दिशा में झुकती है, इसलिए दोनों रेखाएँ बीच के पास एक-दूसरे की ओर इशारा करती हैं।
Horizontal fold खोलने पर दोनों रेखाएँ नीचे के आधे भाग में mirror हो जाती हैं।
इस तरह हर quarter में तीन holes एक तिरछी रेखा में बाहरी कोने से केंद्र की ओर जाते हैं और X जैसा pattern बनता है।

After folding up and then left, the three holes lie in the top-left quarter on a slanting line: the first near the corner and the last nearer the centre.
Opening the vertical fold mirrors the line into the top-right quarter, sloping the other way, so the two lines point towards each other near the middle.
Opening the horizontal fold mirrors both lines into the bottom half.
So each quarter has three holes in a slanting line that runs from the outer corner towards the centre, making an X-like pattern.
