What happens to sound when vibrations stop?

ExplanationAnswer and explanation

Answer: (C) Production of sound stops.

Sound is produced by vibrations, so as soon as the vibrations stop, the production of sound stops.
Sound needs a medium (solid, liquid or gas) for its propagation; it cannot travel through vacuum.
The speed of sound in air is about 343 m/s (at 20°C).
Sound does not change into light, because sound is a mechanical wave, whereas light is an electromagnetic wave.
