संविधान (सातवाँ संशोधन) अधिनियम, 1956 राज्यों के पुनर्गठन से जुड़ा था। इसके द्वारा पहले की राज्य-श्रेणियों (भाग क, ख, ग और घ) को समाप्त किया गया तथा राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों की नई व्यवस्था बनी।

The Constitution (Seventh Amendment) Act, 1956 was linked to the reorganisation of States. By it, the earlier categories of States (Parts A, B, C and D) were abolished and a new arrangement of States and Union Territories came into being.
