Which characteristic is typical of the climate of the Great Indian Desert?

ExplanationAnswer and explanation

Answer: (A) Large diurnal temperature variation

A typical feature of the climate of the Great Indian Desert (Thar) is the large diurnal temperature range. It is extremely hot by day, and the temperature falls rapidly at night because the sky is clear and the air is dry.
Rainfall here is very low and erratic, and humidity is low.
Because the Aravalli range runs parallel to the branch of the monsoon, a rain-shadow-like situation arises in the west.
The main area of winter rainfall is the north-western mountainous region, not the desert.
