A square sheet is folded in half as shown and cuts are made in the folded position. Select the figure that will be obtained when the sheet is unfolded.
एक square sheet को दिखाए अनुसार आधा fold किया गया है और fold की स्थिति में कटाई की गई है। वह figure चुनिए जो sheet को खोलने पर बनेगी।
नीचे वाला आधा हिस्सा ऊपर की ओर fold किया गया है, इसलिए fold line दिखाए गए rectangle की नीचे वाली edge है। खोलने पर हर cut इसी line में reflect होता है।
Fold line पर बना triangular cut (apex ऊपर की ओर) अपने reflection से जुड़कर centre में एक diamond जैसा hole बनाता है।
ऊपरी edge पर बना V-shaped cut नीचे की edge पर reflect होता है, इसलिए square में ऊपर और नीचे दोनों जगह V-notch बनता है।
हर side का छोटा rectangular notch fold line को नहीं छूता, इसलिए वह reflect होकर हर side पर दो अलग-अलग notches बनाता है।
इस तरह centre में diamond, दो V-notches और हर side पर दो notches बनते हैं, जो option (d) है। Option (b) में side के notches जुड़े हुए हैं और (a) तथा (c) में diamond की जगह triangles हैं।

The bottom half is folded up, so the fold line is the bottom edge of the rectangle shown. Unfolding reflects every cut in this line.
The triangular cut on the fold line (apex pointing up) joins with its reflection and becomes one diamond-shaped hole in the centre.
The V-shaped cut on the top edge is reflected to the bottom edge, so the square has a V-notch at the top and one at the bottom.
The small rectangular notch on each side does not touch the fold line, so it is reflected into two separate notches on each side.
This gives a central diamond, two V-notches and two side notches on each side, which is (d). Option (b) merges the side notches and (a) and (c) show triangles instead of the diamond.
