The following sentence has been split into four segments. Identify the segment that contains a grammatical error.

(A) They are working / (B) on this project / (C) since the beginning / (D) of this year.

Answer और ExplanationAnswer and explanation

Answer: (D) They are working

Concept (Present Perfect Continuous with Since)
जब कोई कार्य अतीत में आरंभ होकर अब तक जारी हो, और आरंभ-समय 'since' से बताया गया हो, तब Present Perfect Continuous (have/has been + V-ing) प्रयुक्त होता है, Present Continuous नहीं।
अतः 'They are working' के स्थान पर 'They have been working' होगा।
शुद्ध वाक्य: They have been working on this project since the beginning of this year.
Exam trap: 'since' होने पर भी 'are working' को शुद्ध मान लेना।
Concept (Present Perfect Continuous with Since)
When an action began in the past and is still continuing, and the starting time is given with 'since', the Present Perfect Continuous (have/has been + V-ing) is used, not the Present Continuous.
So 'They are working' should be 'They have been working'.
Correct sentence: They have been working on this project since the beginning of this year.
Exam trap: accepting 'are working' even though 'since' is present.
