The following sentence has been split into four segments. Identify the segment that contains a grammatical error.

(A) I am working in this company / (B) for more than ten years / (C) but still do not / (D) get any promotion.

Answer और ExplanationAnswer and explanation

Answer: (C) I am working in this company

Concept (Present Perfect Continuous with Duration)
जब कार्य अतीत में आरंभ होकर अब तक जारी हो और 'for more than ten years' जैसी अवधि दी गई हो, तब Present Perfect Continuous (has/have been + V-ing) प्रयुक्त होता है, Present Continuous नहीं।
अतः 'I am working' के स्थान पर 'I have been working' आएगा।
शुद्ध वाक्य: I have been working in this company for more than ten years but still do not get any promotion.
Exam trap: अवधि दी होने पर भी 'I am working' को सही मानना।
Concept (Present Perfect Continuous with Duration)
When an action started in the past and is still continuing, and a duration such as 'for more than ten years' is given, the Present Perfect Continuous (have/has been + V-ing) is used, not the Present Continuous.
So 'I am working' should be 'I have been working'.
Correct sentence: I have been working in this company for more than ten years but still do not get any promotion.
Exam trap: accepting 'I am working' even though a duration of ten years is given.
