Translucent में ‘trans’ यानी पार और luc यानी रोशनी (lucid वाली)। Translucent sheet से रोशनी पार आती है, पर साफ़ नहीं दिखता। Bathroom का धुँधला glass सोचिए — रोशनी आती है, चेहरा नहीं दिखता।
TRANS means 'across' and LUC means 'light', as in lucid. A translucent sheet lets light pass across it, but you cannot see clearly through it. Think of frosted bathroom glass: light comes in, faces do not show.
SSC क्रम पूछता है: transparent (पूरा आर-पार), translucent (रोशनी आए, धुँधला दिखे), opaque (बिल्कुल नहीं)। Translucent का सही Hindi पारभासी है।
SSC tests the order: transparent (fully see-through), translucent (light passes, view is blurred) and opaque (no light passes). In Hindi, translucent is पारभासी, while पारदर्शी fits transparent.
