Fair के तीन अर्थ याद रखिए: न्यायपूर्ण (fair play), गोरा, और noun में मेला। Fare (a-r-e) अलग है — transport का किराया। घर का किराया rent, बस का किराया fare।

Keep the three FAIRs together: fair means just and impartial (fair play), fair also means light in colour (गोरा), and as a noun a fair is a मेला. FARE with a-r-e is different: it is the money you pay for transport.

Exam note

न्यायपूर्ण वाले अर्थ में synonym just, impartial, equitable और antonym biased, unfair, foul हैं। Fair/fare का homophone भी पूछा जाता है।

In the 'just' sense, synonyms are just, impartial and equitable; antonyms are unfair, biased and foul. Homophone questions test fair (mela) against fare (charge).
