ऐसे व्यक्ति की कल्पना कीजिए जो इतने ध्यान से सुन रहा है मानो पूरा शरीर ही कान बन गया हो। जैसे 'all eyes' का अर्थ है ध्यान से देखना, वैसे ही 'all ears' का अर्थ है पूरे ध्यान से सुनना।
Imagine a person so attentive that the whole body seems to have turned into ears. Just as 'all eyes' means watching closely, 'all ears' means listening very attentively.
इसका अर्थ है उत्सुकता और ध्यान से सुनना। 'Attentive' और 'heed' सही बैठते हैं; 'turn a deaf ear' (अनसुना करना) इसका opposite है।
