Disguise = भेस बदलना, मुखौटा। Blessing in disguise वह वरदान है जो भेस बदलकर, यानी मुसीबत का मुखौटा पहनकर आता है। बाद में पता चलता है कि वो तो हमारे भले के लिए था।
Disguise means a changed appearance, like a mask. A blessing in disguise is a blessing that arrives wearing the mask of trouble. Only later do you realise it was good for you all along.
SSC में सबसे ज़्यादा पूछे जाने वाले idioms में से एक। Silver lining मिलता-जुलता भाव है, पर windfall (अचानक मिला लाभ) अलग है, क्योंकि वह शुरू से ही अच्छा दिखता है।
One of the most frequently asked idioms. 'Silver lining' carries a similar hopeful sense, but 'windfall' (an unexpected gain) is different because it looks good from the start.
