The square is divided by its diagonals into four triangular parts, and the whole figure is
symmetrical about the vertical axis through its centre.
The right part holds a small triangle pointing outwards with a vertical line across it (forming a diamond with the central lines), and there is a small circle in the top and bottom corners.
The missing left part must therefore be the left-right mirror image of the right part: a triangle on the left edge containing a small triangle pointing left, cut by a vertical line.
Only option (a) has this form; options (b) and (c) have a kite and (b) also a stray circle, which the right part does not contain.
