What is the main type of rock found in the Deccan Trap region?

The Deccan Traps were formed about 66 million years ago when huge floods of fluid lava poured out through cracks (fissure eruption) and spread over western and central India. Cooled lava is basalt, an extrusive igneous rock.

(A) Sedimentary rocks are formed by deposition of sediments; the Deccan lava was not deposited that way.

(C) Limestone is a sedimentary rock (calcium carbonate); the Deccan Traps are not limestone.
