Which term denotes an organism’s genetic constitution for a particular character?

ExplanationAnswer and explanation

Answer: (D) Genotype

The genetic constitution of an organism for a particular character is called its genotype, while its outward visible form is called its phenotype.
For example, in peas TT and Tt are different genotypes, but both are tall plants with the same phenotype.
In Mendel's monohybrid cross, the phenotypic ratio is 3:1 and the genotypic ratio is 1:2:1.
The terms 'genotype' and 'phenotype' were given by Johannsen (1909).
