Which of the following statement regarding Net Domestic Product (NDP) at market prices is correct? (GDP =Gross Domestic Product)

ExplanationAnswer and explanation

Answer: (B) Net Domestic Product at market prices equals GDP at market prices after deducting depreciation.

•
GNP = GDP + विदेश से शुद्ध कारक आय।
•
NNP = GNP − ह्रास।
Net Domestic Product at market prices equals GDP at market prices minus depreciation (consumption of fixed capital): NDP(MP) = GDP(MP) − Depreciation. Hence NDP is always smaller than GDP, not larger.
•
GDP at factor cost = GDP at market prices − indirect taxes + subsidies (that is, minus net indirect taxes).
•
GNP = GDP + net factor income from abroad.
•
NNP = GNP − Depreciation.
