आर्थिक सर्वेक्षण (survey) 2025–26 के अनुसार वित्तीय वर्ष 2022 से 2025 के बीच राजस्व व्यय (revenue expenditure) का अनुपात 13.6 प्रतिशत से घटकर 10.9 प्रतिशत हो गया। इसके साथ केंद्र का प्रभावी पूँजीगत व्यय (effective capital expenditure) FY25 में GDP के लगभग 4 प्रतिशत तक पहुँचा, जो राजकोषीय गुणवत्ता में सुधार दर्शाता है।
राजस्व व्यय में वेतन, ब्याज (interest), सब्सिडी जैसे वे खर्च आते हैं जिनसे परिसंपत्ति का सृजन नहीं होता।
