23 जून 1757 को लड़ा गया वह युद्ध प्लासी का युद्ध (Battle of Plassey) है। इसमें नवाब के सेनापति मीर जाफर आदि के षड्यंत्र के कारण रॉबर्ट क्लाइव ने सिराजुद्दौला को पराजित किया और अंग्रेजों को बंगाल के व्यापार (trade) पर प्रभावी नियंत्रण मिला।
युद्ध के बाद मीर जाफर को बंगाल का नवाब बनाया गया।
बक्सर का युद्ध (1764) निर्णायक सिद्ध हुआ और उसके बाद 1765 में अंग्रेजों को बंगाल, बिहार व उड़ीसा की दीवानी मिली।
वांडीवाश (1760) में अंग्रेजों ने फ्रांसीसियों को हराया।
The battle fought on 23 June 1757 is the Battle of Plassey. In it, owing to the conspiracy of the Nawab's commander Mir Jafar and others, Robert Clive defeated Siraj-ud-Daulah, and the English gained effective control over the trade of Bengal.
After the battle Mir Jafar was made Nawab of Bengal.
The Battle of Buxar (1764) proved decisive, and after it, in 1765, the English received the Diwani of Bengal, Bihar and Orissa.
At Wandiwash (1760) the English defeated the French.
