One of + plural noun takes a singular verb

In the structure 'One of + plural noun + verb', the real subject of the sentence is 'One', not the plural noun that follows. Because 'One' is singular, the verb must also be singular. The plural noun sits inside a prepositional phrase and can never control the verb. This is why 'One of my friends has gone' is correct and 'One of my friends have gone' is wrong.

जब sentence की संरचना 'One of + plural noun + verb' होती है, तब sentence का वास्तविक subject 'One' होता है, उसके बाद आने वाला plural noun नहीं। चूँकि 'One' singular है, इसलिए verb भी singular ही लगेगी। उसके बाद आने वाला plural noun prepositional phrase का भाग होता है और वह कभी verb को नियंत्रित नहीं करता। यही कारण है कि 'One of my friends has gone' सही है और 'One of my friends have gone' गलत है।
